An odd post, but one that has an Acorn connection. Nikolai Dante has been a character who has appeared in 2000 AD for many, many years. What I do remember way back when it started was that Simon Fraser (the artist) appeared in Acorn User discussing how he used his Acorn system to help him with his artwork. IIRC it was scanning and colouring.
I suspect now he’s moved on, but this image sticks as being one that seemed out of place in Acorn User at the time: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:2000AD1139.jpg
More on Nikolai Dante - which is probably rather spoiler laden as to the ending of the epic tale. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikolai_Dante (nb - I’ve not read the last story yet) |

Simon Fraser (the artist) appeared in Acorn User discussing how he used his Acorn system to help him with his artwork. Any ideas when this would've been? I don't have many old AUs myself, unfortunately - couldn't afford both MU and AU! |

Not too sure on specifics myself - I may still have that copy of AU back at my parent’s house, but I know my dad threw most of them out (my collection dating back to 1984 gone.....). |

It could have been '97 , I forget.
My RiscPC finally went to the recycling 2 months ago in fact. Though I gave up using it a long time ago. There have been something like 4 PCs and 2 Macs since then. The great thing about using Artworks on the RiscPC was that it really taught you to be frugal with resources. Even now I use Alpha Channels instead of Layers because they use less memory. Even though my current work PC has twice as much RAM as my RPC had harddrive space!
Happy times. |
